you no-show. All course pricing includes a cart unless specifically mentioned. Most carts have to be returned to the club house by 6:30 or sooner depending on time of year, so pay attention to that fact when booking twilight rounds. Some courses allow walking in the afternoon. A collared shirt is required at most courses so dress accordingly when golfing on Kauai.

It's said that when Jack Nicklaus created the Kiele Course, the terrain lent itself so well to his vision that he made but a single change to his original design. So it's no surprise that this incredible 7,070-yard resort course is hailed as one of the finest golf gems in the Pacific.

The Kiele has a sense of style uniquely its own. Fairways weave along imposing ocean cliffs, over promontories high above Nawiliwili Harbor, and among some 40-acres of fresh water lagoons. Lush groves of exotic foliage thrive amongst the holes.

A new course located on the Grove Farm property in Lihue. Bunkers and water both come into play on this course. There are a few challenging holes for the advanced player player. Number 6 comes to mind. A longish par 3, off a cliff, over the water and with a narrow green. For the most part, the fairways will keep your ball in play and the traps can be putted (no high lip) and the sand is tight for easier chipping. The grass and greens are in excellent condition. The red tee give significant advantage which is nice for couples golf. If you want lunch ready for you at the turn, use your cell phone to call the restaurant.

The Prince is one of Hawaii's most challenging golf courses, with a USGA course rating of 75.3 and a 145 slope. But fear not. Five different tees on each hole allow you to set your own challenge. Named after Prince Albert, the only son of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma, The Prince is Robert Trent Jones, Jr.'s masterpiece. Looking as if it had emerged full-blown from nature, it chugs uphill, jumps ravines and careens downhill like a roller-coaster.

The Makai Clubhouse acts as a hub of a wheel, with three courses as the spokes. The Ocean Nine wanders to the sea coast and back, offering many enchanting views of the blue Pacific. The Lakes Nine heads out in the opposite direction and works its way back to the ocean and cliffs. The Woods, the inland nine, features rock garden style bunkers and views of the mountains with towering waterfalls. Played individually or in combination, these three nines offer something for everyone.

The 6,900-yard course was crafted for players of all skill levels. The course is marked by Scottish-style rolling links, open fairways and a relative lack of forced carries. Indigenous island landscaping flourishes in exquisite harmony with its tropical setting. The Mokihana's challenges come within 150-yards of the hole, where undulating greens, serpentine waste areas and creative bunkers can add strokes if one is not mindful.
